Akimbo is a boutique stationery studio based in lovely Adelaide, Australia, run by designer Alicia Parsons.
Established in 2010, it is a combination of my loves: design, paper and events. I love the way a beautifully designed invitation can give a big occasion the attention it deserves, a well-timed card can make someone’s day and gorgeous paper goods can make even the most mundane feel special.
My aim is to create ‘clever hellos’, that is, little pieces of paper loveliness that will make you smile when you open your letterbox. In particular, I love working with fun couples from all over the world who are dreaming of heirloom-worthy wedding stationery that is a true reflection of them.
You may have spotted Akimbo in esteemed publications such as Style Me Pretty, Harpers Bazaar, Oh So Beautiful Paper and Polka Dot Bride or in various awesome shops.

I’m Alicia, the chick behind Akimbo. So nice to meet you!
An idealist at heart, I believe design can improve our lives and connect people in real and meaningful ways. After 5 years as a commercial graphic designer, I felt the pull to go back to basics and focus on personal communication. Thus Akimbo was born.
When I’m not working with my sweet clients or dreaming up ideas for fab new stationery, I can be found writing about decorating and organising over on my lifestyle blog Atypical Type A, kicking back with friends with a glass of red bubbles in hand or elbow-deep in a craft project.
