Please read the policies before placing your order with Akimbo.
PAYMENT
Prices
All prices on this website are listed in Australian Dollars by default. You may select your own currency (USD, CND, NZD, GBP or EUR) from the dropdown menu at the top for easy shopping, however your order will still be processed in AUD. Your own bank may charge you a foreign transaction fee – this is outside Akimbo’s control.
Prices exclude GST unless otherwise specified. 10% GST will be applied at checkout to orders within Australia.
I do not charge more when you say ‘wedding’ so please be upfront so I can best serve you to find the right stationery for your event.
Couture design
Prices begin at $320 + printing. See here for more information.
Payment methods
Our secure online shop accepts payment by credit card or PayPal. Orders placed via email will be invoiced manually and can be paid by credit card, PayPal or electronic transfer. There are no hidden fees for credit card payments.
Payment terms
For Couture designs, a 50% deposit is required to secure your booking and begin design work, with the balance payable upon approval to print.
Because of software limitations, online orders are to be paid for upfront. If this is an issue (trust me, I get the wedding cashflow thing) simply contact me with your order and I can invoice it manually with the 50/50 payment structure and separate due dates for your invitations and day-of stationery. All orders must be paid for in full prior to printing.

All quoting and consultations are free of charge.
Trade rates
I love working with wedding planners/stylists to ensure a consistent vision for the day. I offer a 10% discount to jobs handled by your planner, so they get compensated for their time while you don’t have to pay a cent more than retail to have the whole thing taken care of by the pros. Everyone wins!
CANCELLATIONS & RETURNS
Cancellations
If I have not yet begun designing your job, I will refund your payment in full.
If the design process is already underway, your deposit will be forfeited to reflect the time already spent on design. The balance will not be payable.
If your job is already at the printers and/or completed and on its way, cancellation is not an option.
In any case, please contact me immediately if your circumstances change so I can do everything I can to help.
Returns
For readymade products, I’ll accept a return and provide a full refund if the item does not meet your expectations. If you have simply changed your mind, contact me to discuss.
Personalised items are not able to be returned as they have been printed just for you. But please contact us if you have any concerns and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Errors
Please alert us to the issue straight away. If it is our error of course we will reprint and ship at our own cost as soon as possible.
If you’ve approved the artwork with mistakes in it, we will arrange another proof and reprint at a discount of 20%.
SHIPPING
Shipping methods
Orders of readymade products will be shipped via Australia Post within 3 business days.
Orders of personalised items (such as invitations) will be shipped via a courier to ensure prompt and safe delivery.
Delivery will occur during business hours so at checkout please specify a suitable daytime address (for example, your office or perhaps your parents’ house).
International shipping
Akimbo has a rolodex full of happy clients from all over the world! We use an international courier for your precious invitations, so they will take just a few days. Orders shipped with Australia Post can take up to four weeks (especially if they get stuck in US customs!).
PO Boxes
We are able to ship to PO Boxes.
DESIGN & PRINT
Proofs
You are entitled to two free rounds of proofs for personalised orders. Additional proofs incur a fee of $30 per item. For this reason, I recommend you provide complete and proofread information from the beginning.
While I take utmost care, checking your proofs is your responsibility. Please ensure you proofread carefully, paying particular attention to proper nouns and numbers as these will not be picked up by anyone but you. It’s a great idea to print it out (rather than proof on-screen) and to give it to someone who hasn’t seen the invitation before – it’s amazing what fresh eyes can pick up! Once you have given your approval to print, any errors are your responsibility.
Sorry, hardcopy proofs are not available.
THE STUDIO
Business hours
Akimbo operates 9am-5pm (Australian Central Standard Time) Monday-Friday excluding South Australian public holidays.
Closure
The studio closes for short breaks during the year and a longer summer closure in December/January.
I always inform current clients of upcoming studio breaks and post it on social media and on the diary dates on the homepage so no one will be left in the lurch!
The dates for the 2012/13 summer closure are: 17 December – 25 January.
